She was stuck in an elevator when she was supposed to be at her dream job interview.

She was stuck in an elevator with a man that was claustrophobic.

She was stuck in an elevator, with him.

He was fiddling now, fumbling with his buttons and digging around in his pockets.

“Just try and relax and keep your mind on something else.” God that sounded so retarded. She certainly wasn’t in line to be the next Dr Phil.

He nodded and smiled, she wished for a minute she could see his eyes. She bet they were as beautiful as him. What was with the sunglasses inside thing anyway? Maybe it was some cool rock star thing, she obviously didn’t understand.

“What were you going to see your lawyer for?” It just came out, she cupped her hand against her mouth and winced. “Sorry, that was a bit nosey.”

He shifted a bit, and laughed. “No, it’s ok. I’m finalising my divorce actually.”

Wow, she had no idea, admittedly she’d stopped reading trash magazines a long time ago. There was always however, this twisted comfort in seeing people who you thought had it all, struggle with day to day problems. Life wasn’t always greener on the other side of the fence.

“Wow, sorry – or maybe should I say congratulations.”

His head rolled back and his laugh rumbled out. “Oh man, you know you’re the first person who’s actually said that to me.” And then it happened.

He reached up and peeled off his sunglasses. Eyes the color of the perfect ocean stared right back at her that she felt in her knees. “What about you Claire?” She felt his eyes fall to her fingers, which were naked apart from one ring silver twist she always wore.

“Wow,” she whispered.

“No, single. I’ve been a bit selfish and travelled most of my life while I studied, until now. Had my fun, I guess you could say.” She trailed off, it gave her satisfaction when his brow tipped to know he was thinking about exactly what fun she had meant. The air between them had become thick and heavy, and she wasn’t quite sure if she was comfortable. Especially when she felt her nipples pinch against silk every time she caught his gaze roaming over her.

God, he had an incredible mouth.

“Nothing wrong with fun,” he popped his knuckles and paced in the short space they had.

He stopped a few inches away from her, her gaze fell to that mouth. His lips looked a little dry and her tongue buzzed just thinking about how she could change that.

Her chest heaved as he crept in closer, his lips barely touching hers. The smell of leather and soap swirled around her, hitting her right in the gut. Her eyes flicked back up to meet his, they were dark like a storm rolling onto the ocean.

Her heart hammered in her throat, they were in an elevator for god’s sake, of all places.

His fingers lifted and reached for her ponytail and tugged it free letting her hair spill out over her shoulders.

“You’ve got great hair.” He twirled his finger around a strand and lifted it to his nose.

“Mmm apples.”

She gripped the railing behind her, she was going to melt into a puddle of goo soon, she was sure of it.

“Claire, I need distracting, and your mouth...” He traced his index finger across her lips, watching it slide from the corner of her mouth across her bottom lip.

She swallowed, now at a loss for words.

“I...” She wanted to feel the heat that radiated off his body against hers, she had to know if he really was that warm.

He tipped her chin when she looked down, “sometimes we don’t get a minute to stop in this crazy world. Stop with me, now Claire.”

Her belly was a bundle of nerves, and then he closed the gap. His mouth hit hers, and sent a delicious heat that spiralled down to her toes. Her hands threaded up around his neck, and her fingers went up into his hair. Slow and easy, his tongue circled hers releasing the moan from her throat.

She rose up on to her tip toes, and he took them a step back until she pressed into the wall. His hands shot up into her hair, twisting it around his fingers as he angled the kiss deeper. She fought for reason and she fought for willpower, but lost miserably. His lips slid down her jaw and the centre column of her throat, leaving her skin buzzing in its wake.

“What am I doing?” she murmured tilting her head back and closing her eyes as his lips traced around the v of her shirt. Tension bubbled inside her, one part of her wanted to stop him, what if the elevator started moving again and then opened? What the hell would people see then? Her mauling a rock star, in a very public place? Jesus, and then her perfect job dreams would-

“Oh shit,” While her thoughts rambled, he’d opened her shirt and his very clever mouth was now sucking on her through silk.

Her hands raked through his hair, anything to encourage more of that mouth on her. Her legs buckled, but he had her pinned to the wall so the only place she’d began sliding to was...

Nirvana.
